DPME COURSE SPECIFICS
DPME is an asynchronous course. Chapter information is released on a drip schedule beginning at enrollment. While most chapters are time released, according to a 5-day drip schedule, the student has 80 days to complete the course. THE DPME COURSE CAN BE COMPLETED IN 50 DAYS. The DPME course includes surveys, surveys of understanding writing activities, chapter writing assignments, chapter quizzes, self-study projects, slide presentations with instructor audio lessons, and course notes. Completion of self-study projects, quizzes, surveys for understanding writing activities, chapter writing assignments, and other pre-requisites are DPME course requirements. Students are required to keep a writing journal (electronic or paper) to record all written activities and written assignments and for self reflection on learned concepts and understanding. The DPME course model is designed to use iterations and writing assignments (common in doctoral dissertation development); therefore, students will see repetition of concepts, take surveys of understanding, and referrals to future chapter information to scaffold (or build) a structural dissertation.
DPME CHAPTER RELEASE (DRIP) SCHEDULE
The chapter release (drip) schedule provides structure. It also allows students time to comprehend and build on the previous chapter’s information, using a strategy of acquiring knowledge, self-reflection, introspection, iteration, and application. The chapter release (drip) schedule is instituted to provide time to receive and process each chapter’s information and to help remove the feeling of being overwhelmed with data. Students have time to complete the chapter lesson pre-requisites including self-study assignments, surveys, quizzes, slide presentations, writing assignments, and review course chapters at their pace (within the 80 day course access duration period). However, students can complete the course in 50 days if they adhere to the chapter release schedule. The release schedule allows time for journaling self-reflections and recording notes relative to integrating learned DPME concepts into a student’s future doctoral dissertation.
RELEASE SCHEDULE (This schedule can be amended by the DPME course administrator without notice) All chapter lessons are released systematically over approximately 45 days.
- Chapter 1, the Introduction, is released immediately upon enrollment.
- Chapters 2-5 lessons are released, respectively, on a (5-day) release (drip) schedule, after completing the previous chapters’ requirements.
- Chapters 6 is released on Day 31 after completing the previous chapters’ requirements.
- Chapters 7-8 are released, respectively, on a (5-day) release (drip) schedule after completing the previous chapters’ requirements.
- Chapters 9 and 10 lessons are released simultaneously on a (5-day) release date after completing previous chapters’ requirements.
- Chapter 10 has a final randomized quiz and survey.
THE DPME COURSE DURATION PERIOD IS 80 DAYS FOR STUDENT ACCESS.
